New Page, Who Dis?

Wow. So. Uh. Hi there. My name is Hunter, my name is on this comic, but I haven't actually contributed anything to this comic (aside some old promo art, ideas, and lots of nagging) ever.

I was actually given the responsibility to update smackjeeves along with Tumblr way back in April and due to some massive miscommunication... I thought Steph was still updating Smackjeeves. I wasn't getting notifications from this site due to them all being funneled into the email I used to sign up to this site with, which is a dead email account and I never thought to check it due to me believing Steph was still reporting on it. So my apologies. If you must sling dirt, sling it at me. The author only ever wanted to do a fun comic and share that story with others.

The long and short is, the situation here was brought my attention from some very cool Patrons and I immediately jumped to see what I could do to fix this. Turns out, not a lot can be done to fix the last eight months, aside time traveling (and i'm no hero of time), all I can do it get back on the bandwagon of updates and apologize for the long silence.

With that being said, I'll post four pages this week and then start the updates on a weekly basis after that on every monday or tuesday. Happy 2019?

New Update Schedual

Hey guys! Long time no news post! I just wanted to announce that this month, I've decided to move forward with a new posting schedule, both in terms of the day the page is posted and in how many pages I will be posting each month.

The fact of the matter is, The Demon Road is not a comic that I would be able to continue to produce without support. About two years ago, Patreon and the contributors who thought this project was worth continuing, both financially and other means of support where able to help me do this and I have been creating consistent content ever since! Though life has changed a lot in those two years, this support has been instrumental in helping me be where I am today.

Trying to work out a balance between creating something worth paying into and still being able to post for free and reach the audience that I've wanted to share it with has been an interesting one. In this time I've come to the conclusion that the past model of 2:1 posting, when the 2 being supported is a weekly post and the 1 a bi-weekly post (at current goal level) was a good place to start; but that continuing so at where TDR's budget has comfortably settled (and therefor these dates fairly locked in) would not be in the best interest for the health of the project and the enjoyment of it's readership.

Initially, I had wanted to wait until Demon Road had reached 100 pages ahead of public updates on the patreon before changing the schedule, but I had decided that 1: I was becoming impatient with not being able to share things at what I would consider a reasonable rate, and 2: while the number 100 is a nice, round number that has a nice, marketing appeal, It's rather arbitrary and I don't want to let it hold me back. Therefor, at CH3, PG111 (223 total pages) on Patreon and CH3 PG19 to public, I will be updating at a 1:1 ratio to each, with Patreon being ahead the number of pages that I produce and continuing on it's current schedule (a minimum of 1 a week) and publicly locked in at 1 a week, it's current and continuing page difference behind the Patreon updates. Updates will be switched over to the Patreon update dates, which are Thursdays :)

At the end of the day, The Demon Road is created to be read and to be shared and I want to do what I can to facilitate this goal while being able to reward those who make this comic possible to be created in the first place. I feel that this is a reasonable compromise between the two worlds and I look forward to seeing how it pans out!

The Demon Road will now be posting every week on Thursdays <3
